On May 16, 2014 Ambassador of Ukraine in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias held a press conference for the local media and diplomatic corps in Vietnam in order to acquaint them with the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea as well as with such issues as constitutional reform; decentralization of power; the law on the language; the Association Agreement with the European Union; Geneva Agreements as of April 17, 2014; Presidential elections in Ukraine etc. 

The representatives of the Vietnamese newspapers, television and radio channels, electronic media were invited to the press conference. The press conference was also attended by the representatives of the foreign embassies in Vietnam, heads and deputy heads of diplomatic missions and senior diplomats.
