Ukraine is represented in the Kingdom of Cambodia by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam concurrently. Cambodia is represented in Ukraine by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Federal Republic of Germany concurrently.
Political relations
In 2022 and 2023, the President of Ukraine had two telephone conversations with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In 2022, as part of the ASEAN events, delegations led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine visited Cambodia.
In 2022, with the active support of Cambodia as the ASEAN chair, Ukraine joined the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
In June 2023, as part of the security forum "Shangri-La Dialogue» the meeting between defense ministers of Ukraine and Cambodia took place.
Cambodia's position on Russian military aggression against Ukraine
Cambodia has condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and calls for an immediate end to the use of force and the withdrawal of troops from the territory of Ukraine. Cambodian leaders express solidarity with the Ukrainian people, stressing that aggression against a UN member state is a serious violation of the international law and endangers the basis of the international order, which does not allow any unilateral change of internationally recognized borders by force.
In 2023, Cambodia, together with Japan, trains Ukrainian specialists on humanitarian demining.
