On August 12, 2015 the Ambassador of Ukraine Oleksiy Shovkoplias met with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Vương Duy Biên. This was the second meeting for the last three months. It was aimed to discuss the ways and means to intensify cultural exchanges between the two countries, holding the Days of Culture of Ukraine in Vietnam and of Vietnam in Ukraine, possibility of visa liberalization for citizens of Ukraine visiting Vietnam for tourism and business.
Ambassador of Ukraine noted the leading role of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam in maintaining people to people relations between the citizens of our countries and the friendship between the two peoples that had hardened during the Vietnam War for Independence. The Ambassador thanked the Vietnamese government for its attention to Ukrainian veterans of the War for Independence, who are invited by the government of SRV to visit Vietnam annually.
Deputy Minister Vương Duy Biên underlined that the government and people of Vietnam value the memory of Ukrainian contribution to the victory of Vietnam, its post-war industrial development, possibility for thousands of Vietnamese people to study in educational institutions of Ukraine.
Joint actions to encourage Ukrainian tourists to visit Vietnam were also discussed. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam supported the initiatives of Ukraine and promised Ministry’s support to all measures that might increase the number of Ukrainians who visit Vietnam.
