From 4 to 6 September 2017, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. During the official visit to Viet Nam on September 4-6, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held meetings with the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Pham Binh Minh and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Tran Tuan Anh.

 The parties expressed the mutual interest in developing the comprehensive bilateral cooperation between the countries and exchanged the ideas and views on the current international and regional issues.

 

  Upon the results of the negotiations the Communique of two Ministries was adopted and the following documents were signed: Plan of Consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Viet Nam for 2018-2019, the Agreement on Cooperation between Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam and Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academies of Ukraine and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

The visit was widely covered by the Vietnamese media.
