Thursday, September 13. VIETNAM – The delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine headed by Defense Minister Dmytro Salamatin visited the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Ukrainian Defense Minister met with the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Shang and Minister of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Army General Fung Kwan Thani.

During the meeting, Dmytro Salamatin informed his counterparts on the prospects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO, the EU and other organizations including those with non-aligned status.

The following areas of cooperation were discussed:

organization and conduct of visits and consultations at the level of heads and representatives of the Ministries of Defense, General Staffs of the Armed Forces;

reformation of the Armed Forces;

training of Vietnam personnel in higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine;

cooperation in the field of repair, modernization and supply of weapons and equipment;

visits of Ukrainian veterans of the Vietnam War to Vietnam;

organization of personnel recreation at health spa facilities in Ukraine and Vietnam.
