The event was organized by the Department of cultural diplomacy and UNESCO affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam together with the People's Committee of Nghe An Province. The conference was attended by Ambassadors of Angola, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, UNESCO representative in Vietnam, diplomats from Argentina, Laos, Mozambique and Ukraine, staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong, authorities of Nghe An Province, delegates from the National Academy of Politics named after Ho Chi Minh and the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

At the event, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Vietnam, Vladyslav Pereverziev, made presentation dedicated to Taras Shevchenko and showed to the audience the experience of honouring prominent Ukrainians and promoting Ukrainian culture abroad. The participants of the conference got acquainted with the biography of Kobzar and learned about the campaign being conducted by Ukraine for the erection of T.Shevchenko monuments in foreign countries. The 1,384 monuments of T. Shevchenko are the largest number of monuments dedicated to the cultural figure in the world. The topic of rebranding the image of T.Shevchenko for its popularization among the youth and presentation in such contemporary arts as street murals and pop-art based on the example of the project called "Quantum leap of Shevchenko" was discussed. Also, the events dedicated to the celebration of Shevchenko's days and the recent 200th anniversary of Shevchenko's birthday by Ukrainian Embassies and the Ukrainian diaspora abroad were presented.

The contribution of the school No. 251 in Kyiv, named in honour of Ho Chi Minh to strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Vietnam was mentioned.

The conference was followed by the visit to Kim Lien, home town of Ho Chi Minh, where representatives of different countries exchanged ideas and experiences on public diplomacy.
