Each and every day of the Russian brutal war against Ukraine takes its toll on Ukrainian nation. Whether it is a massive destruction and deaths after Russian bomb falls on Ukrainian city or a story of a displaced mother who leaves behind everything and flees holding the hand of her scared child.
Those are the scars that are hard to heal. Those are the tragedies that are unbearable if not for the help, compassion, and kindness that Ukrainians receive from all over the world.
On 27 and 28 of February 2024, two events dedicated to Ukraine were held in Ho Chi Minh City with the encouragement and full support from the Consulate General of France and Consulate General of Germany.
The exhibition “Children that live through…” at the French Residence presented the powerful photographs of young Ukrainians who live through the unjustified Russian war with courage and strength, and optimism, and strong belief in their beloved country. Visitors of the exhibition had the opportunity to once again see what Ukrainians are fighting for and to get inspired for continue standing with Ukraine in order to ensure safe childhood for the kids in Ukraine and in every peace-loving country.
The screening of The Kyiv Independent documentary "Bullet Holes: Investigating Child Murders" at the Deutsches Haus served as a poignant reminder of the atrocities committed by the Russia army, particularly the heinous crimes against children, and the urgent need to seek justice for the victims and hold the perpetrators of these horrific crimes accountable.
We highly value the words of sympathy, encouragement and confidence in the victory of justice that we received from the Vietnamese people, international guests and diplomatic colleagues. We believe that together we will overcome hardships and our joint actions will ultimately bring victory and peace for Ukraine.
With gratitude for the profound support in organizing the two events to Consul General of France in HCM City Mdme Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, Consul General of Germany in HCM City Mdme Josefine Wallat and the teams of both General Consulates, as well as Ukrainians living in Ho Chi Minh City.
