On the Vietnamese channel VTC10, Ambassador Oleksandr Gaman and his wife, Iryna Gaman, shared the secrets of cooking Ukrainian borscht and discussed the dish's significant place in the hearts of Ukrainians. They also highlighted that in 2022, UNESCO recognized Ukrainian borscht as part of the intangible cultural heritage in need of protection.
"Borscht is part of our history, culture, and tradition. When moving to another country, Ukrainians first look for where they can buy ingredients for borscht. We are fortunate that there are no issues with this in Vietnam," the Ambassador noted.
The cooking demonstration included traditional Vietnamese spices such as black pepper and lime, creating a unique cross-cultural Vietnamese borscht.
The presentation of this traditional Ukrainian dish took place at the renowned national bird reserve in Ninh Binh province.
