On August 30, 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias had a meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Transport of Vietnam Đinh La Thăng. During the meeting the current situation and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport were discussed.

The possibility of Ukrainian companies participation in the pilot projects of Vietnamese Public Private Partnership (PPP) was also discussed during the meeting. Minister informed the Ambassador about the main business terms of the mentioned projects, function and responsibility of the government, on one hand and potential investors – on the other.

The government of Vietnam started investment infrastructure projects running into billions in the frame of PPP program.

The two sides agreed on the necessity to make cooperation more active. The Vietnamese Minister was informed about possibilities for cooperation in the field of aviation, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, modernization of the national system of ports of Vietnam.
