Ambassador of Ukraine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias held a meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son.

On May, 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias held a meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son.

During the meeting the two sides emphasized that traditionaly friendly relations between Ukraine and Vietnam formed in a period of the former Soviet Union was a strong platform for bilateral relationship.

The Vietnamese side was informed on readiness of Ukraine to make Ukrainian-Vietnamese dialog more active in order to create necessary conditions for effective using of the bilateral relations potential. The Sides agreed on priority of trade-economic cooperation.

The Vietnamese side emphasized a large role of the recent visit of the President of Ukraine to Vietnam which opened a new page of relationship oriented on development of comprehensive cooperation and partnership. The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Vietnam informed about preparation for a visit of Prime-minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung to Ukraine scheduled for this autumn.
