On March, 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias held a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Gia Khiem.

During the meeting the two sides gave careful consideration to the wide spectrum of bilateral relations; emphasized importance of traditionally friendly relations between Ukraine and Vietnam formed in a period of the former Soviet Union that is strong platform for bilateral relationship.

The two sides expressed readiness for active dialog to create necessary conditions for effective using of the bilateral relations potential. The Sides agreed on priority of trade-economic cooperation.
