On November 12, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Oleksiy Shovkoplias held a meeting with Сhairman of People's Committee (Mayor) of Ho Chi Minh City (ex-Saigon) Le Hoang Quan.

During the meeting the sides discussed particular issues of cooperation between the two countries in economic sphere. In particular they talked about the participation of Ukrainian enterprises in the construction of subway in Ho Chi Minh and development of other projects in which interested both countries.

The Vietnamese side was also informed that Ho Chi Minh City will be one of the cities that Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Lytvyn will visit during his official visit to Vietnam in early December.
